Glenelg to Adelaide Parklands Recyled Water Project
 
Project Outcomes

Once complete, this project will:

  • Increase the volume of wastewater recycled at Glenelg Waste Water Treatment Plant  by more than three times
     
  • Reduce discharges of treated wastewater to the Gulf St Vincent
     
  • Reduce dependence on potable water sources from the Adelaide Hills catchment and the River Murray
     
  • Improve the health of the River Torrens and quality of the water in the Torrens Lake
     
  • Enhance Adelaide’s image as a green city
     
  • Provide the backbone infrastructure for additional water conservation projects, such as water for toilet flushing and for use in commercial developments.
