Why do we need recycled water?
With increasing uncertainty regarding climate change and its impacts on drought patterns in Australia, our water is an increasingly valuable resource. South Australia is already known for being one of the driest regions on the planet. Careful planning and management of our water resources is required to ensure we can continue to meet our future water needs.
By using recycled water on the Adelaide Park Lands, this project will help conserve our valuable water resources. At the same time, this project will allow for the sustainable irrigation of the Park Lands for the full use and enjoyment of all workers, visitors and residents. The project will also result in a significant reduction of treated wastewater to the Gulf St Vincent.
